Trauma-Informed Therapy

Trauma-Informed Therapy is a specialized approach that recognizes the profound impact of trauma on emotional, mental and physical well-being. This therapeutic method emphasizes creating a safe and supportive environment, where clients feel empowered to explore their inner systems and experiences. By building trust and enhancing a connection to '“self,” trauma-informed therapy helps individuals process their trauma, develop effective coping strategies, and foster resilience. I utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Internal Family Systems and Brainspotting because they can help heal emotional injuries and traumas stored in the body by leveraging the mind-body connection. These somatic modalities can be helpful for clients in processing and better understanding perceptions, feelings, thoughts, and physical sensations related to painful memories, anxious feelings, and “feeling stuck.” Integrating these techniques with other forms of therapy can be a valuable tools to feel more connected with self-energy.
